High and
Dry!
Both Redcar's lifeboats were tasked and while the Atlantic 75 held the yacht secure with a tow rope the crew were taken to safety by the D class. A Redcar lifeboat crewwman was put aboard the yacht to assess the situation and to look for damage and once all was confirmed watertight the yachts crew were put back on board to await the rising tide.
The lifeboats were tasked later that evening when the yachts crew became concerned over their crafts stability as the flood tide made the yacht move among the rocks. The Atlantic 75 again secured a tow rope and with patience was able to pull the yacht's keel free from the rocks and tow the boat into deeper waters. The yachts auxilliary engine was tested and once happy the crew released the tow and continue their voyage to Scarborough, much wiser about the layout of the rocks at Redcar.
