Rescue – Saturday 22 August 2015

The Atlantic 85 class lifeboat from Redcar was launched at 6.15pm on Saturday 22 August 2015 after the four-man crew of an 18-foot fishing boat called UK Coastguard, reporting that their craft had run out of fuel in Tees Bay.

Initial reports were that the fishing boat was near the Saltscar Buoy, but after checks using the lifeboat’s VHF direction-finding equipment the disabled craft was located between Hartlepool and the Teesside Wind Farm.

The fishing boat was towed to safety in Hartlepool Marina.
