Rescue – Sunday 11 October 2015
Both RNLI lifeboats from Redcar were launched just after 11.30pm on Sunday 11 October 2015 after UK Coastguard received a desperate 999 call from a woman, reporting that she was in the sea at Marske.
Coastguard officers together with police officers, the police helicopter and a Coastguard helicopter were also sent to the scene.
A Redcar Coastguard officer found the woman conscious and laid on the water’s edge on the beach near Cliff House, Marske. He immediately pulled the woman away from the sea and gave first aid.
The woman was carried on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance and taken to James Cook University Hospital.
