Rescue – Thursday 25 October 2018

Just before 8.30am on Thursday 25 October 2018, UK Coastguard paged the Redcar RNLI crew to go to the assistance of a broken down fishing boat approximately three miles north of the lifeboat station.

Crew members were already at the lifeboat station preparing for an exchange of lifeboats to allow the station’s own inshore lifeboat to go for refit.

The station’s larger Atlantic 85 class lifeboat ‘Leicester Challenge III’ was quickly launched and located the broken down craft.

A tow line was rigged and the craft taken into Paddy’s Hole, South Gare, near Redcar.
