Redcar RNLI and Middlesbrough FC team up to raise funds
Middlesbrough football club have announced that Redcar RNLI are the club’s official charity partner for the 2017/18 season.
In a statement issued by the club they say: ‘The club are delighted to announce that Redcar RNLI are the club’s official charity partner for the 2017/18 season.
‘We are teaming up with Redcar branch of the nationwide charity and will be working closely together to assist with fundraising and create awareness for a cause that is very important to coastal life in the region.’
Dave Cocks, Lifeboat Operations Manager was at the club’s training centre at Rockliffe Park for the partnership launch and said: ‘It’s a very exciting partnership for everybody at RNLI.
‘We’ve got a lot of Middlesbrough fans on the crew and, like the football club, the Redcar lifeboat station is very much the focus of the community.
‘We’re delighted to be a part of it.’
Mark Ellis, Chief Operating Officer at MFC said: ‘The club are delighted to be supporting another local charity that has had and continues to have such an important impact on lives of people in the Teesside area.
‘We look forward to working with the RNLI and supporting their great work across the coming season.’
