4 people cut off by rising tide at base of Huncliffe, Saltburn. B580 "Leicester Challenge" launched to assess situation and RAF SeaKing helicopter diverted from exercise. B580 stood by while helicopter winched stranded people to safety.

Solo diver reported overdue. D523 launched to investigated - diver resurfaced shortly after lifeboat arrived on scene. Diver was all-OK and no assistance required.

Woman attempting suicide by walking in to sea. Textbook actions by teenage boy and girl to raise the alarm and keep woman in sight until further assistance arrived. B580 "Leicester Challenge", just back from refit, launched with D523. Woman in very distressed state given treatment for shock and hypothermia at lifeboat station until doctor and paramedics arrived to take woman to hospital. This rescue was complicated by the fact the woman was pregnant.

Windsurfer in difficulties after equipment failure. B570 launched and crew assisted with repairs to surfboard using spares given by another windsurfer.

16ft fishing boat with 2 persons on board. Disabled through electrical failure off Saltburn. Towed to safety at Saltburn beach.

Crew returned to Saltburn with TW18 launching tractor to salvage fishing coble previously beached (see below) to prevent flowing tide carrying vessel and damaging newly refurbished Saltburn pier. Crew returned to station 01:00 hrs 6 May.

While attending incident with fishing coble, crew gave first aid and oxygen to a second person ashore collapsed with head injuries.

Yacht reported to be standing in to danger approx. 1 mile ENE of lifeboat station. Investigated and all found to be well and no assistance needed.

Kite-surfer in difficulties close inshore in heavy seas and strong winds. B580 prepared to launch but wind and tide brought casualty ashore so no launch required.
